Can I split or merge teams that have complete the Five Dysfunctions of a Team Assessment?

Edited

Due to the nature of the Five Dysfunctions of a Team assessment, once an assessment is complete, teams can’t be merged together or split into subset teams.

The assessment is designed to be taken by an intact team—people who work closely together and share common goals, responsibilities, and outcomes. In this context, a team is defined as a relatively small number of people (typically 3–12) who share common goals, as well as the rewards and responsibilities for achieving them, and who are willing to set aside individual needs for the good of the group.

Each participant completes the assessment with the other members of their team in mind. Because of that shared context, the final report is only meaningful for the team exactly as it was represented when the assessment was taken. Merging teams or creating subsets after completion would change that context and could undermine the accuracy and trustworthiness of the results.
